Alison Jimenez Presents on Financial Sextortion at United Nations

Alison Jimenez presents at United Nations on sextortion.DSA president, Alison Jimenez, presented at the United Nations Global Fraud Summit in March 2026. Ms. Jimenez co-presented with Paul Raffile on “Teens, Tech & TCOs: Financial Sextortion of Minors” in Vienna, Austria.

The Global Fraud Summit was jointly sponsored by INTERPOL and the United Nations Office of Drugs & Crime. In conjunction with the Global Fraud Summit, INTERPOL released its 2026 Global Threat Assessment with the key finding that sextortion is being systematically integrated into scams such as romance and investment fraud.

Ms. Jimenez discussed her research into the financial mechanisms of financial sextortion of children, where international cooperation can be leveraged, the involvement of transactional criminal groups, and how Safety by Design principles applied to teen financial apps can help disrupt the financial flows.

As an outcome of the event, the U.S. State Department is proposing a resolution at the United Nations Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice to urge greater international action to prevent and combat the transnational sextortion of children.
